In one of the biggest design undertakings of its kind, the Hoteles Silken Group launched the Hotel Puerta America in late 2006. The Spanish-based company invited 18 world-renowned architects to adopt and design each individual floor within the structure, while French architect, Jean Nouvel, spearheaded the hotel’s polychromatic façade and the top floor penthouse. Featured architects include Zaha Hadid, David Chipperfield, Norman Foster, Plasma Studio, Arata Isozaki, Christian Liaigre, and many others.

The hotel is a sensorial and intellectual feast that clearly upholds the maxims of its parent company in its quest for quality and innovation. Through a space brimming with an array of different shapes, materials, and colors, the aim is for the guest to become involved, to discover a new way of experiencing a hotel without sacrificing comfort. The hotel’s website resounds, “The HPAM is a hotel made of the stuff that dreams are made of: talent, inventiveness, madness, sanity—a real dream come true. HPAM is a hotel where creativity and freedom go hand in hand—a veritable homage to freedom.”
